Yoga during pregnancy

First of all, congratulations on this beautiful journey! Building an entire human from scratch is a big deal: that’s why we love to support all moms-to-be throughout all stages of pregnancy (and beyond).

Because being pregnant is beautiful — but it can also be quite a physical and mental challenge. That’s exactly why yoga during pregnancy is such a valuable tool to help you stay flexible, strong, and relaxed.

At MyAuroraYoga we offer special prenatal classes & workshops, so you can be your strongest self throughout your pregnancy and beyond.

Pregnancy Yoga at MyAuroraYoga

Every Friday evening, you can join a dedicated pregnancy yoga class at MyAuroraYoga. These classes are fully tailored to you as a pregnant woman. You’ll not only keep your body flexible and strong, but also learn techniques to prepare for birth and support your recovery afterwards.

Are the regular MyAuroraYoga classes suitable during pregnancy?

From the second trimester, if you’re feeling well, you can generally join all of our classes (with the exception of YoPi). We offer clear options, adapt poses where needed, and always take your unique body into account.

In the third trimester, we especially recommend our Yin Yang and Yin Yoga classes. These are slower-paced, include more stretching and relaxation, and are ideal for maintaining balance in your changing body.

💬 Not sure which class is the best fit for you? Feel free to reach out — we’re happy to think along with you.

What to expect?

Modifications where needed
Our teachers are experienced in working with the pregnant body and offer safe, comfortable alternatives for poses that may not feel right or appropriate during pregnancy.

Your body, your pace
There’s no pressure to push yourself — you’re always welcome to pause, modify, or simply rest for a moment. This is your time.

A warm, safe environment
Our studio feels like a second home. And that includes you — with or without a baby in your belly 😉

Private Prenatal Yoga

For every mom-to-be who is ready to feel strong, calm and in tune with her beautiful changing body.

Private Prenatal yogaclasses are for you if:

✔ You prefer to work 1-1, instead of in a group

✔ When you have specific challenges (like pelvic girdle pain)

✔ Want to explore your birth preparation and relaxation in your own tempo.

✔ When you have a real busy life, and you’re looking for a moment of uninterrupted self-care.

A personal approach, even in our group classes

No two bodies are the same—which means in our group classes you’ll always be offered different options, so you can adapt the practice to what you need that day.

The studio belongs to all of us

At MyAuroraYoga, we hope it feels a little like a second home for you. We love hearing your thoughts and always enjoy a friendly chat over a cup of tea after class. And just like on the mat—nothing is expected, everything is welcome.

Stress reduction is our expertise

We all feel stress—and in the short term, it’s actually useful! (Hello, focus right before that deadline.)

But when it sticks around, stress shows up as aches, fatigue, and a cluttered, busy mind. At MyAuroraYoga, we focus on a holistic way to release stress from the body. Busy schedule? Endless to-do list? Don’t worry—we’ve got you covered!

Your prenatal yoga teachers

Apolline Rinaudo

Apolline is your go-to pre- and post natal yoga teacher and doula. She’s originally from France, but has been living in the Netherlands for the past 6 years. Apolline started yoga at university and it quickly became an important part of her life.

“As my practice deepened, so did my desire to share it with others. That led me to complete my 200-hour yoga teacher training, followed by a specialisation in prenatal and postnatal yoga.”

Pregnancy and birth have always fascinated Apolline. Teaching prenatal yoga allows her to share this passion while supporting you physically, emotionally, and mentally during this special time.

Aurora de Leeuw

Aurora is a passionate yoga teacher from Rijswijk. During her busy student days in Leiden—where she juggled three degree programmes—Aurora experienced the highs and lows of stress firsthand. It was through yoga that she found relief from physical aches and discovered a sense of mental calm.

Aurora has now been teaching yoga for over nine years and specialises in anatomy and stress-related challenges. Alongside running MyAuroraYoga with the support of an amazing team, she is also pursuing a PhD in legal philosophy, with yoga helping her maintain the balance between effort and relaxation.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions by our pregnant clients:

“I don’t have any yoga experience… is this a problem?”

Absolutely not! The prenatal yogaclasses are designed for every pregnant lady, regardless of previous yoga experience. Do you want to join the regular yoga classes without any previous yoga experience? In that case we recommend to either go for our yin classes or the gentle Yin Yang classes.

“Is practicing yoga during my pregnancy safe?”

If you have a “healthy” pregnancy and your doctor or midwife gives you the green light to practice yoga, you are good to go! Yoga can support you not only with birth preparation (think postures for birth and breathing techniques), but also to stay healthy while your body is changing (supporting your physical strength, so you can navigate the changes in your body with less aches and pains).

“What if I feel unwell during class?”

No worries! You know your body best. You can always take a break, pause, ask for an alternative or stop altogether. We are there for you!

Classes

I have an injury / physical challenge, can I still join the classes?

Yes, in most cases this is absolutely fine! Our teachers are trained to work with all kinds of bodies and with many common injuries.

Not sure if your injury or physical challenge could be a limitation for yoga or Pilates? Feel free to email your question to info@auroradeleeuw.com. Aurora will be happy to advise you on which classes might suit you best, or which variations we can offer during class.

I have an injury / physical challenge and I mentioned this in the intake form—are all teachers aware of it?

We always recommend letting the teacher know before class if you think your injury might affect the way you participate. If you practise regularly with the same teacher, chances are we’ll remember—but a little reminder (or a quick update) is always appreciated 😉.

Are you pregnant? Please always let your teacher know (even in the early stages). That way we can best look after your health and your baby’s.

What level are the classes?

Our classes are open to everyone—from beginners to experienced practitioners. The intensity of each class can vary, and you’ll find this listed in the schedule. If there’s no specific mention, the class is accessible to all levels.

Is there a minimum number of sign-ups required for a class to go ahead?

Yes, classes at MyAuroraYoga will run with a minimum of 2 participants. If you’re the only one signed up, you’ll automatically receive an email from our system letting you know the class has been cancelled—the evening before (for a morning class) or in the morning (for an evening class). Any credits used will be returned to your account automatically.

I can’t log into my account, what should I do?

If you’re having trouble logging in to book a class, please check that you’re loggin in in the right system. The online platform for MyAuroraYoga (where you’ll find the online studio and online courses) is a separate system from the booking system for the Voorschoten studio.

To log in for the studio in Voorschoten: log in via Supersaas. Forgotten your password? You can request a new one by clicking “forgot password” on the login page.

To log in for the online studio or online courses: you can log in directly through our own website.

Important: Do you have a membership? Memberships are managed via our website as well. After logging in, simply click on my account” > “subscriptions to manage your active memberships.

We know using two different systems can be a little confusing—unfortunately, at the moment we don’t have the option (yet) to integrate them into one system.

Do you offer English spoken classes?

We offer several English spoken classes: you can recognise these classes by the label (ENG) behind the classname. If nothing is mentioned, the class’ main language is Dutch.

However, all our Dutch teachers are fluent in English – so even if you’re not fluent in Dutch, you can still join the Dutch spoken classes (we will make sure that your personal adjustments and options are communicated with you in English).

Cancellation Policy

I’ve booked a class but can no longer make it—until when can I cancel?

You can cancel a booked class yourself via your Supersaas account up to 4 hours before the class starts. When logged in, click on the schedule to see the classes you’re signed up for (recognisable by a green tick). Click on the class you wish to cancel, and your booking will appear. Then click the “paper & pencil” icon next to your name. A “change booking” window will open—click on the bin icon to cancel. Your booking will now be removed and the credit returned to your account (with the exception of unlimited memberships, since credits there are unlimited).

If you cancel less than 4 hours before the class, or if you don’t show up, the class will still be charged. For unlimited memberships: if you cancel too late or don’t show up three times, a €5 fee will apply.

The only exception is if the class has a waiting list and another participant can take your spot—this can be done up to 1 hour before the class starts.

For morning classes: If you can’t make it, we kindly ask that you cancel by 20:00 the evening before. This gives others the chance to book a place in time.

Do you have a question about our yoga studio in Voorschoten that isn’t listed here? Feel free to email us at info@auroradeleeuw.com.
